Amanda Vogelsong is a licensed speech pathologist with over 14 years of experience working with children with speech and language delays. She attended the University of Southern Mississippi and received her Masters in Auditory Oral Education for the Deaf and Hard of Hearing. After teaching at Clarke Schools for Hearing and Speech Jacksonville, Amanda returned to the University of South Florida for her Masters in Speech-Language Pathology. She has six years of school-based experience in the Jacksonville area and four years of clinical experience at Brooks Rehabilitation. Amanda has been working with the Early Steps team of Northeast Florida since 2012.
Amanda holds a certificate of clinical competence from the American Speech-Hearing-Language Association. She is Beckman Oral Motor Certified, trained in Dynamic Temporal and Tactile Cueing for speech apraxia, and listed on the Natural Language Acquisition Clinician Registry. She has also completed FL-EPIC training for early intervention in the state of Florida. She specializes in tethered oral tissues (tongue and lip ties) and feeding disorders.
We take a collaborative approach to speech therapy, working closely with our clients and their families to develop personalized treatment plans. We believe that children are unique and deserve respect and compassion regardless of their abilities. We use a play based, child led approach to encourage natural communication development through 1) Sensory regulation 2) Connection and safety 3) Modeling in daily activities.
